Who we are

About The Whole Sound Coach

At The Whole Sound Coach, we believe music is about more than hitting the right notes. It’s about discovering your creative voice, building confidence, developing discipline, and learning to express yourself through sound.

We offer personalized music instruction for students of all school ages in guitar, drums, singing, songwriting, music composition, and digital music production using GarageBand.

Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or developing your own original music, our goal is to help you grow as a musician and as a person. Through hands-on lessons, guided practice, and creative exploration, students develop practical musical skills while discovering what makes their own sound unique.

The Whole Sound Coach provides supplemental music lessons and enrichment instruction. We are an independent instructional service, not a school, and do not provide a complete academic program or replace a student’s existing school or homeschool education.

What you can learn

Our Music Lessons

Guitar Lessons

Learn chords, strumming, rhythm, technique, songs, and the fundamentals of playing guitar. Lessons are tailored to each student’s experience and interests.

Drum Lessons

Develop rhythm, timing, coordination, and percussion skills while learning to play beats and music with confidence.

Vocal Coaching and Singing Lessons

Explore pitch, breath control, tone, vocal technique, and performance confidence while discovering your own voice.

Songwriting and Music Composition

Discover how melodies, rhythms, harmonies, and lyrics come together. Students experiment with musical ideas and develop original songs and compositions.

GarageBand and Digital Music Production

Learn recording, arranging, editing, digital instruments, and basic music production while turning creative ideas into original tracks.

Lessons are scheduled individually within the available hours. Students can inquire about their preferred instrument, lesson length, and availability.

Online lessons are also offered. Please contact us to confirm online availability for your chosen course and schedule.

35-minute lesson

A focused session for developing skills, practicing techniques, and exploring new musical concepts.

55-minute lesson

An extended session for deeper practice, songwriting, composition, or digital music projects.

Prices are per lesson. No additional registration or materials fees are charged under the current pricing policy. Any change to this policy will be communicated before enrollment.

For families

Homeschool and Charter School Families

The Whole Sound Coach welcomes families who homeschool independently, participate in charter school independent study programs, or simply want to provide their children with additional music instruction.

Our lessons are designed to complement a student’s existing educational plan by providing hands-on instruction in music, creative expression, and digital production.

Charter vendor partners

Mission Vista Academy
Sage Oak

We currently identify Mission Vista Academy and Sage Oak as our charter vendor partners. Families should confirm that our current vendor status and their selected lesson are approved for their particular charter and school year before arranging charter-funded payment.

Charter funding is subject to each school’s approval process and purchasing requirements. Families should request and receive any required authorization before lessons are purchased through charter funds.

Don’t attend a charter school? No problem.

Our music lessons are also available to the general public through direct, out-of-pocket payment. Students do not need to be enrolled in a charter school to inquire about lessons.

Where

In-Person and Online Instruction

In-person lessons

Available in Temecula, California, at The Whole Sound Coach Private Studio.

Online lessons

Available remotely for students who prefer virtual instruction, subject to course availability and scheduling.

Each lesson is an instructional session focused on the selected musical skill or project. Lessons may include demonstration, guided practice, feedback, creative exercises, and individual musical development.

Our Teaching Philosophy

We call it The Whole Sound because music is about more than a single sound, song, or instrument.

“It’s about bringing the different parts together — technique and creativity, practice and play, listening and expression. It’s about helping students discover not only what they can play, but what they have to say.”

Our approach encourages curiosity, experimentation, perseverance, and confidence. We believe that learning music can help students develop skills that extend beyond the studio and into everyday life.

All instruction is secular and focused on music education and creative development. We welcome students without regard to religious affiliation or background, and we do not incorporate religious instruction or rituals into lessons.
